Please note: The University Fellowships Office administers the competitions for a number of the major national fellowship and scholarship competitions requiring institutional endorsement, including Fulbright, as well as supporting opportunities through prestigious organizations such as NSF, NIH, DOD and DOE.

The NOAA Sea Grant Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship offers graduate students a unique opportunity to spend one year in Washington, D.C. working directly in federal executive or legislative offices on ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes policy. Fellows contribute to real-world decision-making while gaining hands-on experience, professional skills, and a strong national network.

- Start Dates: June 2027 to May 2028
Funding & Benefits: Fellows receive a competitive annual stipend, along with support for relocation, travel, and professional development. The program provides hands-on experience in federal policy settings and access to a strong national network of professionals in science, policy, and government.
Eligibility Highlights: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, be enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s, PhD, or JD) at the time of application, and demonstrate an interest in public service and policy related to ocean, coastal, or Great Lakes resources.
