Dr. Chuyi Chen received her Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Duke University, M.S. and B.S. degrees in acoustics from Nanjing University. Prior to joining NC State, Dr. Chen was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is the recipient of the Ludwig Center Postdoctoral Fellowship. Dr. Chen has published over 30 articles in journals such as Nature Materials, Nature Communications, Science Advances, PNAS, ACS Nano, and Lab on a Chip. Her research focuses on acoustics, fluid dynamics, micro/nano systems, metamaterials, sensing, and imaging with applications in healthcare, biology, materials, and manufacturing.
