MAE Seminar: Tyler Kroon
Title:
Library Tools for Smarter Research in Engineering
Abstract:
In this seminar, Tyler will introduce attendees to library resources, services, and spaces available through NC State University Libraries, as well as tips and tricks to make your research more efficient. Specific topics covered include: engineering databases for finding academic literature, citation management tools, broader research support from the Libraries, and more.
Bio:
Tyler Kroon is a Research Librarian for Engineering at North Carolina State University. He plans and teaches library instruction sessions, research workshops, and provides research consultation services for engineering students and faculty. He is the library liaison to the CCEE, ISE, MSE and MAE departments within the College of Engineering. Tyler also serves on the NC State University Libraries’ Alt-Textbook Team, working to reduce textbook costs for students, and on the Open Pedagogy PIT STOP program team, helping faculty incorporate emerging technology into their instruction. He has a Masters degree in Library and Information Science from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Keuka College.
