Do you have an idea for an art piece that would represent the MAE department or mechanical and aerospace engineering in general? Would you like to have your artwork displayed in the department? We are looking for a new art piece to display in the common area outside the main office. We would like to offer our community the opportunity to design an original piece that will be displayed on the EB3 3rd floor.
The art contest is open to all MAE community members (faculty, staff, and students)
Art pieces must be original artwork of the artist, able to be mounted on the wall, any size between the minimum dimension of 27” x 40” to a maximum dimension of 72″ x 72″. Art may be created in any medium (oil, acrylic, markers, photography, sculpture.) However, art cannot use text or images taken from newspapers, magazines, downloaded from the Internet, or other sources to form a collage.
Art may also be created or enhanced digitally, but must begin as an entirely original work of art by the artist. The art can be one solid piece or a collection of pieces.
Art may be produced individually or in collaboration with others.
Submit your entry by physically dropping it off to the MAE Main Office or by emailing a high quality digital copy to jasuddut@ncsu.edu by September 30, 2022.
Once all pieces have been received we will vote on the winning piece and it will be displayed by October 28th, 2022. Artwork not selected can be collected by the artist or will be displayed in one of the department’s other spaces. The winning artist will also receive a collection of MAE swag.
