Continuing with our Women’s History Month celebration of the awesome ladies at MAE, next up is Dr. Kara Peters!
Dr. Peters is the MAE Director of Graduate Programs and the Associate Department Head. Her long-term goal is to contribute to the advancement of nondestructive evaluation and structural health monitoring techniques for composite aerospace structures. Dr. Peters works closely with her students to help them develop strong experimental problem-solving skills. Her students bridge the gap between optics and mechanics and work in a hands-on, experimental environment.
Outside of work, Dr. Peters has rescued (and spoiled) several Boxer dogs from shelters.
