RED PD
NC State's new proposal submission system
Overview
NC State is transitioning away from PINS to use RED PD (Proposal Development). The College of Engineering will begin this transition in Spring 2026. PD is under the same umbrella as Post Award Management (PAM), Proposal Tracking (PT), and COI/NOI in RED, which are already in use.
For details on the differences between PINS and PD, and why NC State switched, visit the RED PD Implementation page.
MAE Go Live Date
MAE will begin the transition on March 16th. This is the first date that faculty should start using the Proposal Intake Form for new proposals.
Proposals due on March 26th or earlier will continue to be routed via PINS.
Proposals due on March 27th or later will be routed via PD.
(Because this is 9 business days after March 16th.)
