Edwards <\/a><\/span><\/strong>and is part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/mae.ncsu.edu\/\">Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsu.edu\">North Carolina State University<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The AECFDL conducts research in computational fluid dynamics, with an emphasis on the development of advanced physical models and algorithms suitable for conducting large-scale simulations of diverse fluid phenomena. The AECFDL utilizes in-house implicit flow solvers optimized for parallel and GPU-based architectures. Specific areas of current interest include shock-dominated internal flows, reactant mixing and combustion, human-induced contaminant transport, hybrid large-eddy simulation \/ Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes methods, supercritical and multi-phase fuel injection, immersed boundary methods, and GPU computing.
